Islam is Global Terrorism at its Core-An Infidel's View of Islam
This is not intended as an indictment of everyone who identifies as a Muslims across the world. It is simply meant to explain the different facets of Islamic ideology as a whole to those who have not studied the doctrines of Islam as recorded in its sacred texts. Although, this is an opinion piece, it is based entirely upon Islamic primary source documents such as the Qur'an, Hadith Sahih Muslim, Hadith Sahih Al Bukhari, A Classical Manual of Fiqh for the Shafi'i school of Islamic Jurisprudence - "Reliance of the Traveler" ('Umdat as-Salik wa 'Uddat an-Nasik) and Sirat Rasul Allah, all of which are part of my personal library.
Along with my Bible, I carry a copy of the Qur'an in my car, always prepared to demonstrate the accuracy of my claims about Islam with facts from its holy book. I want to reiterate that I do not categorically hate Muslims or anyone for that matter. However, I detest Islamic ideology and those who faithfully follow its prophet's commands and teachings.
It should be noted that many of the 1.6 billion Muslims around the world are Muslim by virtue of their birth, rather than by conscious decision or free will. Furthermore, many followers of Islam in Muslim dominated countries also happen to be illiterate and therefore have not even read the Qur'an. Instead, they have to rely solely on the teachings of their parents, elders and the sermons of their local Imams.
Moreover, in various parts of the Muslim world, tribal customs and laws take precedence over Islamic ideology. Such was the case with Mohammad Gulab, the tribesman who rescued and sheltered Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell from the Taliban. He considered it his sacred duty under the tribal code of honor known as Pashtunwali, which mandates Pashtuns should protect anyone in need. It had nothing to do with following Islam, and actually stood in opposition to Qur’anic teachings.
That being said, most self-professing Muslims are indeed peace loving and kind people, and I am sure that they believe what they are saying. However, Muslims who sincerely proclaim that Islam is a religion of peace, only embrace one aspect of the ideology. They limit their adherence to the early religious teachings of the Qur'an, promulgated by Muhammad while still in Mecca, when he was in desperate search for converts. Most Muslims, many consciously, ignore the later religious, social, economic and political aspects of Islamic ideology that replaced the early teachings and became the primary focus of Islam as it spread from Medina.
Islam is not a peaceful religion, but an ideology that governs all aspects of political, military, socio-economic and religious life and it employs violence, intimidation, military conquest, slavery and oppression to achieve its stated goal of world domination. Muhammad’s words, but more importantly his actions and practices, are the standard by which every Muslim is expected to live. Muhammad is considered Allah's final prophet and the Qur’an the eternal, unalterable words of Allah himself. Therefore, the entire Muslim concept of morality and justice rests upon the interpretation of the Qur’an and guidance outlined in the Sunnah (way), the Hadith (sayings) and the Sirat (life) of the Prophet.
The Qur'an contains commands communicated by Allah through the Archangel Gabriel to Muhammad. The verses are not organized in chronological order, but rather by length, ranging from longest to shortest. There are over 100 verses calling followers to wage war on "infidels" and to kill unbelievers wherever they are found, at times in explicit detail. These verses are not a historical record, confined to a specific time or event in the past. Rather, they are considered part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah to be followed for all times and eternal damnation to hell awaits those who do not faithfully submit.
Since the context of violent passages in Islamic texts is highly ambiguous, it allows Islamic apologists to make an argument for, as well as against violence, depending on the personal sensitivities of a given audience. "Moderate" Muslims simply interpret their holy books' call to violence in the light of their own moral preconceptions, rather than historical precedence. To fully understand and properly interpret the Qur’an, Islamic religious scholars have to rely on the Sunnah and the Hadith, in order to place Qur’anic verses in their proper context.
The Qur’an also contains some verses that advocate for peace and tolerance, yet they hardly balance out the many that call for violence against and death or subjugation of unbelievers. Furthermore, these verses can be almost exclusively attributed to Muhammad’s early Meccan revelations, when Muhammad was still seeking acceptance and his followers were few in numbers. Most of these teachings were subsequently abrogated by the Medinan teachings that followed.
Muhammad's legacy of rape, pillaging, burning, slavery and slaughter are the true face of Islam and it is the ideology promulgated by the sacred books of Islam. It has produced a trail of blood and tears across the world throughout history. It is my personal belief that there is no such thing as "radical Islam" or “Islamic extremism". There are simply those Muslims, who fully adhere to the teachings and examples of their "prophet", and those who limit their adherence to the early religious teachings of the Qur'an. The problem with Islam is not that some Muslims are bad people, but that most of Islam is based on bad ideology.
To those who like to bring up the atrocities recorded in the Old Testament (OT) or those committed by “christians” throughout the centuries there is a key difference between these actions and those of Islam and any comparison is an exercise in futility. The OT commands were given for a specific time in history to a specific audience against a specific “target”, unlike the open-ended commands to violence found in the Qur’an, which are still applicable today. More importantly, the New Testament (NT) teaches peace, love mercy, grace, and forgiveness, exemplified by the life Christ lived, and capital punishment called for in the OT is considered “served” through Christ’s death on the cross. Jesus commanded love and forgiveness from his followers and condemned violence and hate, and therefore any atrocities committed in Christ’s name stand in direct violation of His teachings and are un-Christian.
Muhammad, on the other hand, promoted, even demanded violence from his followers as a means to spread Islamic ideology, as evidenced in the Qur’an, Hadith, Sunnah and Sirat. As aforementioned, these commands are still valid today, until the last Jew has been killed, all others have submitted to Islam and Islam is the law around the world.
May it never be so!
